how to get rid of dark circles

Dark Circles or as it’s popularly known, eye bags, can be caused by stress, genes, or tiredness, which is totally not your fault.

What causes dark circles?

You can’t get solutions when you don’t know the cause of the problem? So like I said in the first paragraph, dark circles can be caused by a lot of factors which includes:

Tear troughs: When there is a volume loss causing a deep crease between your lower eyelid and upper cheek, it is referred to as tear trough. It is inevitable, and some people feel it makes them look older.

Hyperpigmentation: This is the appearance of dark patches on the skin, and sometimes appears under the eyes making it look like eyebags. It is caused when there is excess melanin production. Acne, sun-damaged to the skin, and scars are some of the other causes of hyperpigmentation.

Genetics: There are some things we have no power over, and genes are one of them. Believe it or not, there might be a history of eye bags or dark circles in the family. If this is the case, then it’s not your fault.

Other factors include lack of sleep, insufficient intake of water, sickness or lack of nutrients, and so on.

How to get rid of Dark circles

You might feel like it’s impossible to get rid of dark circles, especially if it’s genetic, but it’s not. With a few tricks and some makeup, you can get rid of or cover up these dark circles.

Change your sleep pattern

First, start by working on your sleeping pattern. Try to sleep early and have more regular night rests. Avoid caffeine or substances that make you hyperactive for this to be possible.

Stay Hydrate

Drink water, lots of water, if you want to avoid dark circles. It can help flush out toxic substances from the skin like salt, and also help raise the flow of blood and water to your dehydrated skin.

As you may know, retinol is a super active anti-aging medication, but did you know it has excellent abilities when it comes to treating dark circles? The eye serum is a must to help stabilize the melanocytes- the dark pigment forming in the cell that contributes to dark circles, to prevent pigmentation.

A product you can try is the The Ordinary caffeine solution. If you are familiar with this brand, then you know they mean business when it comes to skincare.

How to get rid of dark circles with makeup way

You can use makeup to conceal your dark circles. It requires a few tricks and nothing too complicated. Also, getting the right makeup products goes a long way when covering dark circles. Here are a few tricks you can try:

Use Fillers

Fillers are a safe and effective treatment when used by professionals. If your dark circles are caused by shrunk fat pads under your eyes, leading to loss of volume, then treating it by injecting a few fillers under the eyes is one of the best ways  It will help lift the skin and slightly remove the shadow causing the hollows. It may also help in covering any purple skin tone caused by blood vessels. You can check out The Aesthetic Clinic for your fillers.

Make it brighter

If you only have a little discoloration and you just need it to be a little brighter, add highlights to your everyday skin routine. This goes a long way to cover up those dark circles.

Colour Correct

Apply loose powder, as this helps to keep your bags concealed throughout the day. Use a beauty blender or a smaller brush for ease, as it fits the contours of the eyes perfectly.

For those who are genetically predisposed to blue bags, use concealers, and color-correcting strategy. Its yellow tones will counterbalance the blue-hue of under-eye bags. So, always go for color correcting products. It’s best to use your fingers when concealing dark circles. Though makeup brushes bring the right precisions. The warmth of the fingertips helps heat up and melt the concealing products.
